Thank You, AWS, for Powering Grassroots Innovation to the Global Stage

When AWS committed to supporting our HPC Ignite initiative in Thailand, they didn't just provide cloud credits—they invested in a vision that local challenges can become globally relevant innovations.

I am proud to share that this investment is bearing fruit: our students are heading to SCA/HPC Asia 2026 in Osaka, Japan, to share their work!

Ratchaneekorn Weerasin, our Gold Award winner, received acceptance to present her HPC-powered drug discovery research at the SCA2026 Poster Session. Two more projects—HPC LocalVoice and Twin-B—have been submitted to present at an SCA2026 workshop. These students, who learned HPC skills less than a year ago, are now producing research worthy of international conferences.

Even more proud, they have become founding members and administrators of the Thammasat University ACM SIGHPC Student Chapter, building Thailand's next generation of HPC talent.

Cloud Migration Success

With just 15 CloudShell scripts from our previous account on the us-east-1 region, and 20 more scripts running at our new home in the Sydney region over the weekend, we have already migrated and upgraded our core services. It was amazing how easy it was!

At SCA26, our students will demonstrate their work at the AWS booth, and I'll join the panel discussion on HPC and Cloud. This is what an industry-academia partnership looks like when everyone commits to empowering the next generation.
